Diversity in Food (Long Beach, CA)
Long Beach, California, is defined as a coastal city and port in Southern California. It is known for its amazing attractions like Aquarium of the Pacific, the Museum of Latin American Art, and home to The Queen Mary. Aside from these amazing attractions, did you know that Long Beach has some of the most amazing diverse food? From Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House to Edna’s Filipino Cuisine. Here are some, out of many, restaurants in the neighborhood you should try.
Let’s start off with breakfast in the morning. Many Long Beach locals enjoy going to Gusto Bread (2710 E. 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90814) to pick up their daily baked bread for toast in the morning. Gusto is known for their boules, baguettes, and cookies as well. Head baker Arturo Enciso has become known for preparing far more than just bread at Gusto. It’s the perfect place to get your morning started.
For lunch, many locals enjoy stopping at Little Coyote (2118 E. 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90814) for their famous New York-style pizza. Little Coyote has become very popular in Long Beach, and they will soon be opening a second location. That means more pizza, salads, pasta, and well-priced beer for Long Beach. Just imagine an amazing salad and pizza slice after visiting the nearby Aquarium of the Pacific.
Dinner, my favorite meal of the day, has many amazing local restaurants to choose from. My all-time favorite though would be Phnom Penh Noodle Shack (1644 Cherry Ave. Long Beach, CA 90813). The restaurant started out as a five-seat restaurant back in 1985, and eventually worked up to being a neighborhood favorite. My favorite always includes the stir fry noodles, rice porridge, and Cambodian ba-bong. Right in the heart of Long Beach’s Cambodia Town, it’s one of the best places for dinner.
Lastly, we cannot forget about dessert. An all-time favorite would be New Orleans native, Kevyn Lee’s, Fluffy’s Sno-Balls (1208 Long Beach Blvd Ste. B Long Beach, CA 90813). Opened in 2005, this amazing place for dessert carries 35 sno-ball flavors, gourmet pralines, cheesecake, and even ice cream-filled sno-balls.
So, whether you plan to buy a home in Long Beach, or even pay a visit to these amazing restaurants, know that Long Beach is the place that carries many dishes. I am always happy to help with any recommendations. Until then, remember that we are always here to help.
